Mundaring Christian College is a thriving non-denominational, co-educational K–12 school, situated in the picturesque Perth Hills across two campuses with a Primary Campus in Mundaring and Secondary Campus in Parkerville, proudly operated by Swan Christian Education Association (SCEA). We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Head of English to join our Secondary school team in a full-time, ongoing role commencing 1 January 2027. The successful candidate will provide strategic, instructional and curriculum leadership for English across the Secondary College, supporting the delivery of high-quality, Gospel-inspired education that nurtures students academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing English Learning Area aligned with the College’s Christian vision.
  • Lead excellence in English curriculum, teaching and learning across Years 7–12.
  • Drive staff development, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Lead high-quality assessment, moderation and academic standards.
  • Manage resources, budgets and strategic planning to support student success.
  • Champion wellbeing, professionalism and active participation in College life.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and is an active member of a Christian Church, living in accordance with the Association’s Statement of Faith, Christian Lifestyle Statement and Educational Objectives.
  • Model and contribute to the Christian ethos of the College community.
  • Lead engaging English programs that inspire literacy, critical thinking and creativity.
  • Drive curriculum innovation, assessment excellence, and moderation practices.
  • Develop and support staff through coaching, mentoring and professional growth.
  • Build a positive, collaborative culture while overseeing budgets and resources.
  • Current Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) registration and a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to apply.
