Our IT Department plays a supportive role in realising this vision by providing essential technological assistance to our school community.
We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the following Temporary Part-Time position:
- ICT Help Desk Officer (FTE: 0.2)
- Contract Period: To commence as soon as possible – 23 October 2027
This position is particularly suitable for recent graduates, IT students or individuals aspiring to transition into an IT career, including those currently undertaking or planning to undertake further study in a related ICT field. The role is designed for early-career candidates.
Key responsibilities:
The successful applicant will:
Provide first-level technical support for staff and students, following documented procedures, for:
- Google Chromebooks
- Windows 11 devices
- Mac OS X systems
- Basic mobile device support (iOS/Android) for staff
- Assist with the setup and basic operation of AV equipment for school events. Please note this may occasionally require work outside standard hours (for example evenings), which will be managed in accordance with Award provisions.
- Carry out straightforward ICT-related administrative tasks in systems such as the TASS student management system. This may include raising purchase orders and updating records in line with College procedures.
- Follow established ICT processes for logging jobs, escalating issues and documenting resolutions.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure efficient operation of ICT resources, seeking guidance when tasks fall outside standard procedures.
- Uphold Christian values in providing supportive and effective assistance to our community.
Essential Knowledge and Experience:
You will:
- Have completed Year 12 or equivalent schooling, or have relevant work experience in a customer service or support role.
- Demonstrate a keen interest in ICT and basic problem-solving skills.
- Be willing to follow instructions and established procedures for ICT support tasks.
- Possess clear and courteous communication abilities and a collaborative, team-focused attitude.
- Be committed to the Christian educational ethos of the College.
- Be willing to learn, grow and adapt in a dynamic educational setting, including undertaking on-the-job training as required.
- Be able to demonstrate effective planning, organisational and time management skills appropriate to a Level 2 support role.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills when interacting with students and staff.
Desirable:
- TAFE Certificate I or II in Information Technology or a related field, or current enrolment in such a course.
- Previous experience in an ICT support, AV support or school-based ICT environment.
Qualifications:
- Current Working With Children Card.
- Current National Police Clearance (issued in the last 3 months).
Additional Requirements:
- The successful applicant will be expected to complete the National Principles of Child Safe Modules if they have not already done so.
- You must have the right to live and work in Australia. VEVO checks will be conducted to confirm your eligibility to work in Australia.
