About This Role: Pre-Primary Teacher | Ongoing | Full Time | Commencing – Term 3, 2026 Dale Christian College is seeking a warm, capable and committed Pre-Primary Teacher to join our Primary School team in an ongoing capacity. This is an important role within our early years program and would suit a teacher who understands the significance of the Pre-Primary year in building confidence, routine, independence and a love of learning. The successful applicant will be relational, organised and purposeful, with the ability to create a calm, engaging and well-structured classroom environment that supports both the academic and social development of young children. As a Pre-Primary Teacher, you will nurture students in a caring Christian environment and provide a strong foundation for their ongoing learning journey. You will plan and deliver high-quality early childhood teaching and learning experiences, support students’ developing literacy and numeracy skills, and contribute positively to the life of the College. This role requires a teacher who is attentive to student wellbeing, values positive partnerships with families, and is committed to supporting each child to grow in confidence, character and readiness for school. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver a developmentally appropriate, engaging and well-sequenced kindergarten program aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum, EYLF principles and the Christian ethos of the College. Create a safe, orderly and stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, positive behaviour and a love of learning. Support students in their academic, social, emotional and spiritual growth through intentional teaching, clear routines and warm, consistent relationships. Provide explicit instruction in foundational literacy and numeracy skills, while also allowing opportunities for inquiry, play-based learning and purposeful exploration in the early years. Work collaboratively with colleagues, education assistants and College leaders to support student needs and contribute to the broader life of the Primary School. Maintain positive and professional communication with parents and carers regarding student learning, development and wellbeing. Participate fully in staff meetings, professional learning, College events, duties and other responsibilities associated with the role. Selection Criteria Applicants must: Demonstrate a personal commitment to Christian education and a willingness to support the values, ethos and mission of Dale Christian College. Possess recognised / appropriate Early Childhood teaching qualifications suitable for teaching Kindergarten in a WA school. Hold current Teacher Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia, or be eligible to obtain registration or a Limited Authority to Teach. Demonstrate a sound understanding of early childhood pedagogy and child development, including the importance of structured routines, explicit teaching and play-based learning. Have the capacity to create a calm, purposeful and nurturing classroom culture that supports student engagement and wellbeing. Demonstrate sound skills in planning, classroom management and communication. Work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to a Christ-centred College community. Essential criteria Applicants must demonstrate: A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. Active involvement in a Christian church or faith community. Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith. The ability to build positive and supportive relationships with students, staff and families. A commitment to professional integrity, sound judgment and personal best practice. A willingness to follow College policies, procedures and professional expectations. A commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment and supporting the wellbeing of students.
