Maitland Christian School is seeking expressions of interest for the appointment of a part-time (0.8 FTE) Primary Year 2 classroom teacher, to cover a maternity leave position to the end of the 2026 school year. The successful applicant will be given a temporary appointment, commencing duties from Monday 8th June (Week 8 of Term 2 2026) and concluding at the end of Term 4, 2026. - A passion for quality Christian Education with a heart to see students reach their God-given potential;
- A committed Christian actively involved in their local church;
- An ability to actively subscribe to and promote the foundational beliefs and doctrines of Maitland Christian School Limited;
- The ability to relate well to staff, students, parents and the broader community;
- A commitment to work within a collaborative team environment;
- Well-developed communication, administration and interpersonal skills;
- The capacity to further develop a transformational Christian Education integrated into the curriculum and delivered with an increasing missional focus
- Experience in delivering quality teaching practices, particularly in Literacy and Numeracy, using an evidence-based quality teaching framework with explicit teaching foundations and data-informed practice
- Excited about being instructionally coached to facilitate their growth in effecting improved student learning outcomes, both in their class and across the Primary School
- An understanding of the requirements of supporting students with learning diagnoses in a mainstream classroom environment.
- The ability to operate in a strengths-based framework and to develop staff and student culture around this framework
- Salary will align with NSW Christian Schools Teaching Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2024 at the successful applicant’s level of responsibility and experience.
