Glasshouse Christian College invites applications for a full-time Secondary Humanities and English Teacher beginning Term 3 2026. This is a fixed term position to June 2027.

The Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Secondary Humanities and English Teacher who can actively support and uphold the values and Christian ethos of the College. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an educator who loves inspiring students to engage deeply with history, literature, and effective communication.
The successful candidate will teach across a range of Humanities and English subjects in the secondary years. He or she will create engaging, purposeful, and student-centred learning experiences that foster critical thinking, strong literacy skills, and a genuine appreciation for literature and written expression.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging History and English lessons aligned with curriculum requirements.
- Develop students’ confidence and competence in reading, writing, researching, and analytical thinking.
- Use a range of pedagogical approaches to support diverse learners.
- Contribute to the broader school community through co-curricular activities, events, and team collaboration.
- Inspire students to pursue excellence and grow as thoughtful, articulate communicators
About You
- Relevant tertiary teaching qualification with a focus on History and English or related fields.
- Current teaching accreditation/registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
- Strong classroom management and the ability to engage a diverse range of learners.
- A collaborative, flexible, and student-focused teaching approach.
