About the Role
Glasshouse Christian College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English/Humanities Teacher to join our Secondary teaching team. This full-time, continuing position provides an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver engaging and high-quality learning experiences across English and Humanities. The successful applicant will inspire students to think critically, communicate effectively and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them, while supporting each student to achieve their academic personal best. The English/Humanities Teacher will plan and deliver high-quality learning programs, assess and support student progress, and work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
About You
The successful applicant will:
- Be a committed Christian who actively supports the Christian ethos, mission and values of Glasshouse Christian College.
- Be a passionate and accomplished English and Humanities educator who can inspire curiosity, critical thinking and a love of learning in Secondary students.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of the English and Humanities curricula, contemporary pedagogy and engaging teaching practices.
- Have the skills and confidence to teach English and Humanities across a range of Secondary year levels and abilities.
- Create engaging, student-centred learning experiences that develop strong literacy, communication, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Inspire students to explore literature, language, history, geography and contemporary issues with curiosity, thoughtfulness and an appreciation of diverse perspectives.
- Use differentiated teaching strategies to support and challenge students, helping every learner to achieve their potential.
- Use assessment and student learning data effectively to inform teaching, provide meaningful feedback and support student progress.
- Work collaboratively with the English and Humanities teams, Secondary staff and the wider College community.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
- Be committed to ongoing professional learning and the continued development of their teaching practice.
- Hold Queensland teacher registration (or be eligible to obtain registration).
