About the Role

Glasshouse Christian College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Hospitality Teacher to join our Secondary teaching team. This part-time (0.6 FTE), continuing position provides an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver engaging and practical Hospitality learning experiences. The successful applicant will inspire students to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. The Hospitality Teacher will plan and deliver high-quality learning programs, assess and support student progress, and work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing development of Hospitality education at the College.

About You

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a committed Christian who actively supports the Christian ethos, mission and values of Glasshouse Christian College.
  • Be a passionate and accomplished Hospitality educator who can inspire creativity, confidence and a love of practical learning in Secondary students.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Hospitality curriculum, contemporary pedagogy and current industry practices.
  • Have the skills and confidence to deliver engaging Hospitality learning experiences across a range of Secondary year levels and abilities.
  • Create practical, student-centred learning experiences that develop students’ culinary skills, creativity, teamwork, problem-solving and understanding of the hospitality industry.
  • Inspire students to develop high standards of food preparation, presentation, service and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety, and effective management of practical learning environments.
  • Connect classroom learning with authentic, real-world experiences that help students develop valuable skills for further study, employment and life.
  • Use differentiated teaching strategies to support and challenge students, helping every learner to achieve their potential.
  • Work collaboratively with Secondary staff and the wider College community.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
  • Be committed to ongoing professional learning and the continued development of their teaching practice.
  • Hold Queensland teacher registration (or be eligible to obtain registration).
