About the Role

Glasshouse Christian College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science/Maths Teacher to join our Secondary teaching team. This full-time, continuing position provides an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver engaging and high-quality learning experiences across Science and Mathematics. The successful applicant will inspire students to develop their curiosity, problem-solving skills and confidence while encouraging them to achieve their academic personal best. The Science/Maths Teacher will plan and deliver high-quality learning programs, assess and support student progress, and work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

About You

The successful applicant will:

• Be a committed Christian who actively supports the Christian ethos, mission and values of Glasshouse Christian College.
• Be a passionate and accomplished Mathematics and Science educator who can inspire curiosity, confidence and a love of learning in Secondary students.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Mathematics and Science curricula, contemporary pedagogy and engaging teaching practices.
• Have the skills and confidence to teach Mathematics and Science across a range of Secondary year levels and abilities.
• Create engaging, student-centred learning experiences that develop mathematical and scientific understanding, problem-solving, critical thinking and inquiry skills.
• Bring Science to life through practical, hands-on and inquiry-based learning experiences that encourage students to explore and understand the world around them.
• Use differentiated teaching strategies to support and challenge students, helping every learner to achieve their potential.
• Use assessment and student learning data effectively to inform teaching, provide meaningful feedback and support student progress.
• Work collaboratively with the Mathematics and Science teams, Secondary staff and the wider College community.
• Build positive and supportive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safe and effective practices within Science laboratory environments.
• Demonstrate a commitment to the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
• Be committed to ongoing professional learning and the continued development of their teaching practice.
• Hold Queensland teacher registration (or be eligible to obtain registration).
