About the Role
Glasshouse Christian College is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Primary Music Teacher to inspire a love of music and creativity in our Primary students.
Working alongside the Primary Performing Arts Teaching Assistant, Instrumental Music Coordinator and Head of Arts, the successful applicant will deliver engaging Music lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum while playing a key role in the College’s vibrant Primary co-curricular and extra-curricular music program.
Beyond the classroom, this role provides the opportunity to lead our Lower and Upper Primary Choirs, Year 5 Band Program and Year 3 Smart Strings Program. The Primary Music Teacher will also coordinate Primary lunchtime concerts and our Lower and Upper Primary Christmas concerts, as well as contribute to College events including our annual Arts Night, SHINE.
This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative educator who enjoys bringing music to life, developing students’ confidence and abilities, and creating memorable opportunities for students to perform and celebrate their talents.
About You
The successful applicant will:
- Be a committed Christian who actively supports the Christian ethos, mission and values of Glasshouse Christian College.
- Be a passionate and accomplished music educator who can inspire a love of music in Primary-aged students.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Music curriculum, contemporary pedagogy and engaging teaching practices.
- Have the skills and confidence to lead Primary choirs, ensembles and instrumental music programs.
- Create engaging, student-centred learning experiences that encourage creativity, participation and musical development.
- Be enthusiastic about providing students with opportunities to perform and showcase their talents.
- Work collaboratively with the Performing Arts team, Primary staff and the wider College community.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to coordinate performances, concerts and events.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
- Be committed to ongoing professional learning and the continued development of their teaching practice.
- Hold Queensland teacher registration (or be eligible to obtain registration).
