College Context
Alta-1 College Queensland is a multi-sited, independent, co-educational, Special Assistance School (SAS) for Years 7–12. We work with at-risk young people in deliberately small campus settings, providing trauma-informed, wrap-around support that empowers them to discover their identity and purpose through a recovery focused education.

The Opportunity
Alta-1 College QLD has well developed ICT services and infrastructure currently supported through an external IT support company. This position will work under the direction of the QLD Business Manager and College Principal. The role needs to integrate into the larger intention for corporate services across the College but crucially provides support for the day-to-day needs of the staff and students in the QLD context.
One of the existing difficulties for the College is that ICT support is remote and the employment of this position moves to partially address this issue. The person employed in this role needs to be a team-player with a desire to establish quality ICT services that allow staff to seamlessly undertake their roles and students to engage with ICT in ways that support their learning.
The successful applicant will join a team of dynamic educators and support staff and participate in our shared mission to see young lives and communities transformed.
Role Purpose & Key Responsibilities
The primary role of the ICT Officer is to assist in managing helpdesk tickets, day-to-day support and be responsible for the imaging and rollout of devices and is built around the following domains:
· ICT Helpdesk and User Support
· Microsoft 365, User Accounts and Identity Management
· Device Deployment, Endpoint Management and Mobile Support
· Cybersecurity, Endpoint Protection and Appropriate Use
· School Software Systems and Learning Technologies
· Printers, Networks and ICT Infrastructure
· Backup, Disaster Recovery and Systems Continuity
· Documentation, Asset Management and Vendor Liaison
The role requires professionalism, effective communication, and a commitment to building positive, supportive relationships with young people.
Role Selection Criteria
Essential (applicable to all college staff):
· Commitment to Christian faith, college values and the highest standards of professional conduct
· Passionate about supporting at-risk and vulnerable young people towards positive growth and change
Essential (role specific):
· Demonstrated capacity to support and enable staff and mission success
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage positive professional relationships
· Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established procedures
· Experience with and commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion, and safety Highly desirable:
· Relevant IT industry certifications.
· Helpdesk or Customer service experience.
· An understanding of ICT in education settings
· An understanding of Apple and Windows based operating systems and hardware
Required Qualifications:
· Relevant ICT qualifications (minimum Certificate III in “Information, Digital Media and Technology”/Certificate IV in “Information Technology” or similar or higher)
· Experience in troubleshooting ICT issues
· A desire and ability to provide outstanding service delivery
· A desire and ability to work positively and collaboratively with the Alta-1 College team members
· The holder of a Blue Card (or the ability to obtain one)
· Willingness to undertake National Criminal History Check
· Holder of a valid driver license
