Due to consistent growth at Coast Christian School, we are seeking to employ additional K-6 teachers as well as a variety of high school staff in preparation for the intended commencement of two Year 7 classes in 2027. Our aim is to secure the services of people who are both committed Christians and highly talented practitioners that desire to work in a supportive and exciting environment set in a beautiful location on the Central Coast of NSW.

We are seeking several enthusiastic teachers and offer a range of employment options including:

  • Full-time (1.0 FTE) permanent positions
  • Permanent part-time positions

These roles will be considered in relation to applicants’ preferred availabilities and the expanding needs of the school.

Salary:

Commensurate with the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience in accordance with the current NSW Christian School Teaching Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement.

Supervisor/Reports to:

Deputy Principal and/or Stage Coordinator

Classification level:

Teacher, with potential leadership opportunities (e.g. Stage Coordinator) for suitably qualified and experienced applicants.

Position description:

Focus of this role:

The class teacher is responsible for demonstrating and maintaining a firm personal belief and lifestyle consistent with the School’s Statement of Doctrines and Belief, Vision, Mission and Values as an essential requirement of the role.

The main teaching responsibility is to meticulously plan, prepare and implement high-quality learning programs aligned with NESA syllabi, school policies and procedures and diverse needs of students.

Key responsibilities:

  • Foster a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment.
  • Develop, deliver and continually improve high-quality and effective programs tailored to your class/es, based upon a Biblical worldview and which are consistent with NESA curriculum and teacher accreditation requirements, the school’s curriculum policies and evidence-informed educational research recommendations;
  • Differentiate and adjust learning activities and assessments to accommodate the needs of all students in the class;
  • Maintain teaching competency and currency of knowledge or relevant curriculum programs as required by the school and other relevant statutory authorities; facilitating teaching and learning outcomes through effective professional learning, modelling and promoting a culture of improvement;
  • Support students through positive interactions across a variety of settings and through active development of supportive learning environments and effective behaviour management strategies;
  • Participate positively in the collaborative development, evaluation and improvement of all learning experiences, including NESA curricular and regularly monitor, through observation and evaluation, the effectiveness of the learning/teaching program;
  • Participate in and facilitate constructive, positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider School community;
  • Positively participate in school decision-making processes, professional development and school events;
  • Prioritise student wellbeing and adhere to safety protocols;
  • Take reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself and others;
  • Comply with any reasonable instructions, policies and procedures given by your supervisor and/or executive staff.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a committed Christian who has an active involvement within a local church and be able to affirm a personal belief in the school’s Statement of Doctrines and Belief;
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide quality Christian education;
  • Be willing to participate in and facilitate staff, students and whole school devotions and Chapel services,
  • Demonstrate the ability to support students in exploring and understanding the Christian faith;
  • Provide evidence of experience and expertise in subject specific Australian Curriculum and NESA syllabi;
  • Demonstrate high levels of teaching competence, innovation and professionalism;
  • Demonstrate experience and expertise in improving the learning opportunities for every student;
  • Utilise excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and collegiality;
  • Demonstrate strong administrative skills, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability;
  • Possess the ability to prioritise and work collaboratively with all stakeholders;
  • Have high expectations and an understanding that improvement is a shared responsibility.
  • Promote the safety, inclusion and wellbeing of all students, aligning with the OCG’s Child Safe Standards, the school’s Child Safe Policy and Procedures and Codes.

Essential qualifications:

  • Current and cleared Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • An accredited teaching degree as recognised by NESA.
  • Unconditional, fully qualified Teacher Accreditation as set out in NESA’s Teacher Accreditation Manual.
