Northshore Christian Grammar School (NCGS), a growing K–12 school located in the coastal suburb of Alkimos, is part of the Swan Christian Education Association (SCEA). We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Buildings, Grounds and Maintenance Assistant to join our growing team in a full-time, ongoing position, to start on the 20th of July or at a negotiated time.

The successful applicant will contribute significantly to the daily experience of our school community. Through your consistent upkeep of facilities, grounds and equipment, you will ensure a safe, functional and welcoming environment where students and staff can focus on teaching and learning. By proactively addressing maintenance needs, supporting site safety and maintaining high presentation standards, you will underpin the smooth operation of the school and help create a space where the whole community can thrive.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • General facilities maintenance and minor repairs across school buildings and grounds.
  • Maintain lawns, gardens, irrigation systems and outdoor spaces to a high standard.
  • Support workplace health and safety compliance and emergency response activities.
  • Assist with contractors, site works, maintenance projects and campus upgrades.
  • Provide operational support including event setup, equipment upkeep and maintenance requests.
  • Maintain site security, accurate records and effective communication with staff and contractors.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrate a committed Christian faith by actively supporting the College’s Christian life and aligning with the Association’s Statement of Faith, Christian Lifestyle Statement, and educational objectives.
  • Skills that enable completing minor maintenance projects efficiently, with a commitment to delivering a consistently high standard of service.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and under supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community.
  • Basic knowledge of pesticides and insecticides, and operating general maintenance with hand, power, and gardening equipment.
  • Holds, or is willing to obtain, a Working with Children Check and Department of Education Criminal History Clearance, Class C driver’s licence, and your own reliable transport.

Desirable:
