Suncoast Christian College is a well-established pre-prep to Year 12 co-educational College of over 1000 students, situated on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. The College is excited to announce that we have a full-time opportunity available for an experienced Secondary Maths Teacher to join the College on a fixed term contract basis (Term 3). This is a 1.0FTE load. Experience or ability to teach Math Methods is highly desirable.
The role will commence during PD week of Term 3 – Monday 13 July 2026 and conclude at the end of Term 3 – Friday 18 September 2026.
The subjects and year levels will include: Year 8, Year 9, Year 10, Year 11 Math Methods, and Year 12 Math Methods (ideally) over the course of the whole term.
The successful candidate will:
- Support the College’s Christian ethos, recognising each student’s individual potential and fostering their development,
- Teach Math in Middle Years & Senior Years, including preparation, delivery and assessment aligned with the Australian Curriculum and QCAA requirements,
- Develop engaging, differentiated learning experiences that inspire a love of literature and language,
- Assess and report on student progress using a variety of assessment tools,
- Use data to inform teaching practice and support student growth
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum resources and participate in faculty planning,
- Build strong, professional relationships with students, colleagues and parents,
- Support the College’s commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and student well-being.
Skills and experience required:
- A commitment to the vision and Christian values of the College,
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills,
- Demonstrated experience teaching middle and senior Math,
- Sound organisational and classroom management skills,
- Sound relationship building experience and the ability to connect authentically with students, parents and colleagues,
- Ability to inspire and engage students in a dynamic learning environment,
- Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
