Shepparton Christian College is seeking a Secondary English/Humanities Teacher to join our vibrant, well-established, independent, faith-based college community. This is a full-time position commencing January 2027. You will work with others who are passionate about learning in a strong, values-driven culture with excellent academic outcomes and supportive facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Use diverse and effective teaching strategies to deliver the curriculum
- Address diverse learner needs in curriculum design by collaborating with support staff
- Integrate technology to enhance learning
- Dedicate time to lesson planning and organisation whilst ensuring the curriculum is relevant for your subjects and year levels per the state and national course requirements
- Assess and provide meaningful feedback on student progress about their performance, achievements, attitude or behaviour where required and at Parent Teacher Interviews
- Write academic reports according to guidelines
- Develop and assess learning materials and recommend implementation to subject coordinators
- Support and engage in co-curricular programs as needed
- Manage equipment, materials, and first aid needs according to OHS guidelines and exercise duty of care through effective, professional supervision
- Maintain accurate student attendance records, professional development, and appropriate confidentiality
About you
- Current VIT registration (or equivalent)
- Relevant teaching qualifications
- Full working rights in Australia
- Maintain a manner of life that reflects an adherence to and support for the beliefs, teachings, values, and attitudes of Christianity and the Vision and Mission Statement of the College
