We are intentionally offering this position with flexibility from 0.6 FTE through to full-time, allowing us to consider outstanding applicants seeking either part-time or full-time employment.

For experienced applicants looking to take the next step in their leadership journey, there is also the opportunity to be considered for a Year Level Coordinator promotional position alongside the teaching role. Applicants interested in the Year Level Coordinator position would need to be available for full-time employment.

About the Teaching Role

We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about English and enjoys helping young people develop as confident readers, writers, thinkers and communicators.

You will have:

  • an active Christian faith
  • a strong knowledge of the Secondary English curriculum, current educational practices and achievement standards, with relevant qualifications and experience in teaching English. Experience teaching Year 11 or Year 12 ATAR English would be preferred but not essential.
  • exemplary teaching practice, with the ability to deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across a range of year levels, abilities and learning needs.
  • a passion for developing students’ literacy, communication, critical thinking and analytical skills, inspiring students through literature, language and a diverse range of texts.
  • a diverse range of teaching and learning strategies to effectively differentiate instruction and meet the individual needs of all students.
  • the ability to effectively assess, monitor and report on student progress, together with a commitment to positive classroom and behaviour management and adherence to College policies and procedures.
  • confidence in integrating technology into teaching and learning, along with a commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective teaching practice.

About Promotional Opportunity – Year Level Coordinator:

Applicants with suitable experience may also wish to be considered for a Year Level Coordinator position. Please indicate your intention in your cover letter.

This opportunity would suit an experienced teacher who enjoys pastoral leadership, building strong relationships with students and families, and contributing more broadly to the culture and life of a secondary school.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Oversee the pastoral care, well-being, and character development of the Year Group. Demonstrated experience in pastoral care, student wellbeing and behaviour management within a secondary school setting would be required.
  • Manage and follow up on student behaviour and well-being concerns.
  • Develop strong relationships and communication with students, staff and families.
  • Coordinate Year Group activities, camps, excursions and events.
  • Maintain accurate pastoral and student records in TASS.
  • Liaise with Form Teachers, HOLAs, LACs, Counsellors and Chaplaincy to support students.
  • Support student transition, orientation and induction.
  • Promote high academic and behavioural expectations aligned with College values.
  • Coordinate Year Group staff meetings and parent information events.
  • Support Student Councillors and students requiring additional care.
  • Assist with student placement, class/form organisation and transition planning.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience related to the teaching responsibility required by the position.
  • Current Western Australia Australian Teachers Registration Board Certificate of Registration (TRBWA).
  • Current Working With Children Card.
  • Current Police Clearance (issued in the last 3 months)
  • You must have the right to live and work in Australia (VEVO checks will be conducted to confirm your eligibility to work in Australia).
