About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Secondary, the Deputy Head of Secondary School (Curriculum) provides strategic, theological, and operational leadership for the academic life of the Secondary School. This role is responsible for the design, delivery, tracking, and compliance of the secondary curriculum (Years 7–12). The purpose is to foster an innovative, differentiated, and high-performing learning environment that enables every student to discover their unique gifts and pursue academic excellence as an act of worship.
The Deputy Head will also be responsible for overseeing the Secondary Relief Coordinator and providing support, where required.
The position is a Permanent, Full-Time position commencing in January 2027

- Lead, mentor and develop Heads of Learning Areas and teaching leaders, building professional capability and instructional leadership.
- Foster collaboration across academic and pastoral teams to ensure student learning, wellbeing and support are aligned.

- Develop academic, vocational and enrichment opportunities that help students identify their strengths, interests, gifts and future pathways.
- Work with VET and Careers teams to strengthen pathways to further education, employment and purposeful Christian service.
6. Regulatory Compliance & SCSA Liaison
- Provide oversight of SCSA and WACE requirements, ensuring curriculum, assessment, moderation and examination processes meet regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate curriculum documentation and act as the key College liaison with SCSA.
7. Responsible for overseeing the Secondary relief coordinator and Support, where required.

- Instructional Leadership: Proven success as an expert educator with a track record of leading academic departments (as a HOLA or Director) toward high student performance outcomes.
- WA Compliance Expertise: Thorough, working knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, SCSA policies, ATAR structures, and VET requirements.
- Data Literacy: Strong capability to utilise academic data platforms to identify systemic educational trends, diagnose student learning gaps, and drive professional learning strategies.
- Relational Management: High level of emotional intelligence and professional communication skills necessary to coach teaching staff, handle parental academic concerns, and lead school-wide change management.
- Core Values: Alignment with the College Core Values.
Qualifications and Requirements:
You will have:
- Current Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Education (Postgraduate qualifications in Curriculum, Educational Leadership, or Master of Education are highly desirable).
- Experience in the Google Environment desirable
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Current Police Clearance (issued in the last 3 months)
- Have the right to live and work in Australia (VEVO checks will apply).
