Oxley Christian College is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our Junior School team in a 10-11 month maternity leave position, commencing in early August 2026 – 18 June 2027. We are looking for an individual who is not only qualified but who also shares our commitment to delivering exceptional education within a Christian environment.

The successful candidate will be able to teach from a Biblical perspective and uphold the College values while planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Planning: Develop and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the Australian Curriculum, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience for students.
  • Biblical Perspective: Integrate Biblical principles and a Christian worldview into the curriculum, fostering spiritual and moral development among students.
  • Upholding College Values: Demonstrate a strong commitment to upholding the values and ethos of Oxley Christian College, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a well organised and positive classroom environment conducive to learning, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and the broader school community to support the holistic development of students.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Primary Education or a related field (with teaching qualifications).
  • Current teaching certification and registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Experience in teaching primary school students, preferably in an Australian Curriculum-based setting.
  • Ability to teach from a Biblical perspective and integrate Christian values into teaching practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
