Dale Christian College is seeking a committed, capable and relational Year 5 Teacher to join our Primary School team on a full-time fixed-term contract for the remainder of the 2026 academic year.

About This Role:
Year 5 Teacher | Full-Time | Fixed-Term Contract
Dale Christian College is seeking a capable and committed Year 5 Teacher to join our Primary School team for the remainder of the 2026 academic year.
The successful applicant will be relational, organised and purposeful, with the ability to create a positive, well-managed and engaging classroom environment. This role would suit a teacher who can build strong relationships with students, maintain clear expectations, deliver effective teaching and learning programs, and work collaboratively with colleagues, education assistants, College leaders and families.
As a Year 5 Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, well-sequenced learning programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and the Christian ethos of the College. You will support students as they continue to develop independence, responsibility, resilience, confidence and strong foundational skills across the curriculum.
The role requires a teacher who is attentive to student wellbeing, values positive partnerships with families, and is committed to supporting each student to grow in character, learning and faith.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be expected to:
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, well-sequenced Year 5 teaching and learning programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and the Christian ethos of the College.
Provide explicit instruction in literacy, numeracy and other key learning areas, while also allowing opportunities for inquiry, collaboration, creativity and purposeful learning.
Create a safe, orderly and stimulating classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour, student engagement, responsibility and a love of learning.
Support students in their academic, social, emotional and spiritual growth through intentional teaching, clear expectations and positive relationships.
Use assessment, observation and student data to inform teaching, provide feedback and support student progress.
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with a range of abilities, interests and learning needs.
Maintain accurate records relating to planning, assessment, reporting, attendance, behaviour and student wellbeing as required.
Communicate positively and professionally with parents and carers regarding student learning, progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
Work collaboratively with Primary staff, education assistants, College leaders and support staff to support student learning and engagement.
Participate fully in staff meetings, professional learning, College events, playground duties, devotions and other responsibilities associated with the role.
Contribute positively to the Christian culture, community life and professional expectations of Dale Christian College.
Selection Criteria
Applicants must:
Demonstrate a personal commitment to Christian education and a willingness to support the values, ethos and mission of Dale Christian College.
Possess recognised and appropriate teaching qualifications suitable for teaching in a Western Australian school.
Hold current Teacher Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia or be eligible to obtain registration or a Limited Authority to Teach.
Demonstrate the ability to teach upper / middle primary students effectively, particularly in literacy, numeracy and the broader Western Australian Curriculum.
Show an understanding of the developmental needs of Year 5 students, including the importance of independence, responsibility, clear routines, positive relationships and strong learning habits.
Have the capacity to create a calm, purposeful and engaging classroom culture that supports student learning, participation and wellbeing.
Demonstrate sound skills in planning, classroom management, assessment, communication and reporting.
Demonstrate the ability to use student data and assessment information to inform teaching and improve student learning outcomes.
Work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to a Christ-centred College community.
Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility and a willingness to support the broader life of the Primary School and College.

Active involvement in a Christian church or faith community.
