Teacher – Learning Support (Secondary School, EAL Focus)

We are seeking a qualified and student-focused Teacher to join our Learning Support team in Secondary School. This role has a strong focus on supporting a student with English as an Additional Language (EAL) needs through targeted instruction, contributing to their learning, engagement and development.
This role provides an opportunity to contribute to the College’s approach to supporting EAL learners within a collaborative Learning Support team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a student at a critical stage of their learning and development.
About the Role
- Deliver targeted English as an Additional Language (EAL) instruction, including 1:1 and small group support
- Support a designated student to develop English language proficiency and access curriculum content
- Assess student progress and adjust learning approaches accordingly
- Provide guidance on EAL-informed adjustments to curriculum, assessment and classroom practice
- Contribute to the development of effective strategies to support EAL learners across the Secondary School
- Collaborate with the Learning Support Coordinator and teachers to implement adjustments and support strategies
- Provide some in-class support and assist with differentiation where required
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
The Successful Applicant Will Have
- A personal Christian faith, regular church attendance and willingness to support the College’s Statement of Faith
- Understanding of, and commitment to, child safety in an educational setting
- Current NSW Working with Children Check
- NESA-recognised teaching qualifications and accreditation
- Demonstrated experience and/or expertise in English as an Additional Language (EAL) teaching, including the ability to support differentiated instruction and assessment adjustments
- Ability to tailor instruction to meet individual student learning needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff while also managing independent teaching responsibilities

Working Arrangement
This is a part-time position (0.2–0.4 FTE, negotiable) for Terms 3 and 4, 2026.
Working days and hours will be determined based on the Secondary timetable. It is anticipated that the role will be spread across 2–3 days per week. Applicants are encouraged to indicate their availability, including preferred days of the week, in their application.
Salary & Conditions
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Christian Schools Teaching Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement. Salary will be determined based on experience.
