School Counsellor / Psychologist

We are currently inviting applications for the following position commencing in 2026:

School Counsellor / Psychologist  

A permanent part-time position (0.4 – 0.6 FTE negotiable) during school term time only exists for the successful applicant to work within the Cedars Christian College community as part of our Student Wellbeing Team commencing in 2026.

Key Requirements: 

• Provide counselling services to the students from Years K – 6
• Have qualifications in Psychology, Social work, Counselling or other relevant experience
• Knowledge of child and adolescent mental health, behaviour and learning difficulties
• Observation and behaviour management skills and consultation with teaching staff
• Be skilled and effective with responses to mental health crisis
• Maintain confidentiality in a complex environment
• Work effectively in a team environment with school psychologists, counsellors, staff, and parents to ensure the individual needs of students are met
• Experience in whole population wellbeing programs
• Give attention to detail with record keeping, ensuring legislative requirements regarding documentation and child protection are met
• Maintain strong relationships with relevant welfare, counselling, health and related service organisations

Desirable: 

• Qualifications and experience in providing cognitive assessments
• Adjustments for learning disabilities
• NCCD experience
