Prep Coordinator

Carmichael College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational, non-denominational Christian College situated in Morayfield. The College was established in 2015 and is enjoying steady growth.

The College is seeking applications from an experienced Christian teacher to support the staff, students and families in our Prep cohort. This role will also assist in strengthening the transition from Kindy to Prep. This role offers enhanced capacity to foster community connection, streamline transition processes, and support early learning development. Applicants should be able to commence in January 2027 and will on a day-to-day basis:

• Oversee Prep budget and resourcing.
• Work with T & L Team and Primary Admin Assistant to coordinate Prep activities such as Celebrations of Learning, excursions, incursions, and camps.
• Promote and build a culture of cooperation and respect amongst the students, staff and families of Prep that honours and upholds the key values and goals of the College.
• Lead and coordinate a smooth transition from Kindy to Prep, including: Regular Kindy visits to Prep, end-of-year handover meetings and acting as a reference point for Prep teachers regarding incoming students’ backgrounds.
• Support Head of Teaching and Learning to ensure that the curriculum is appropriately delivered.
• Support Head of Lower Primary with behaviour development and pastoral care matters.
• Support the Head of Learning Enrichment to provide leadership in inclusive practice and high-impact differentiation.
• Promote and implement Carmichael’s vision and mission in all aspects of school life.

• Have the ability to teach from a Christian perspective.
• Be passionate about teaching and learning.
• Be willing to take on new forms of pedagogy.
• Contributing to the pastoral care of students and others in the school community, as directed by your line manager.
• Modelling a positive example of Christian community interactions with parents, students, other staff and the wider community.
• Be team players.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision, prioritise workloads, show initiative and work under pressure.

Applicants must be registered with the Queensland College of Teachers.
