The Opportunity

Carey Baptist College Harrisdale is inviting a visionary, strategic leader to guide our K to Year 6 Primary School through a meaningful season of transition. This interim 12 month role calls for someone who can lead and support with purpose, compassion, and clarity, ensuring excellence, continuity, and Christ centred care every step of the way.

The Acting Principal is more than an interim leader, they’re the spiritual and visionary anchor stewarding a Christ centred community where every child is known, valued, and empowered to thrive. With courage and humility, they champion academic excellence and wellbeing across a vibrant K to Year 6 school of over 650 students.

Reporting to the Director of Education and working closely with the wider leadership team, this role provides strategic oversight and management of the school, with a strong focus on spiritual leadership, faith development, and operational excellence. Embracing Carey’s broader vision, the successful candidate will actively engage with key stakeholders across the College to shape a Christ-centred learning community. With an integrated and forward thinking approach, the Acting Principal will lead a dynamic team, foster a thriving school culture, and ensure seamless alignment of systems, strategy and student wellbeing.
