Position Purpose: To deliver outstanding teaching and learning for Years 7–12 through a
Christian worldview.
The Position:
Brindabella Christian College is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Secondary English
Teacher to join our dynamic, supportive, and faith-centred team. The successful applicant
will inspire students in Years 7-12 to develop a love of literature, language, and
communication while supporting their academic, personal, and spiritual growth within a
Christ-centred educational environment.
The teacher will work across Years 7–12, delivering quality programs that meet ACT BSSS
requirements, support senior secondary pathways, and nurture a love of language and
literature.
The teacher will contribute to the school’s mission by integrating faith and learning, fostering
excellence in education, and nurturing students to become confident, compassionate, and
responsible members of society.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the Australian
Curriculum and ACT requirements.
• Teach English across secondary year levels, including senior secondary English
courses where required.
• Develop students’ literacy, critical thinking, analytical, speaking, listening, reading,
and writing skills.
• Differentiate teaching practices to meet diverse student learning needs.

• Assess, monitor, and report on student achievement and progress.
• Utilise contemporary teaching methodologies and educational technologies to
enhance learning outcomes.
Selection Criteria:
1. A living Christian faith and alignment with the College’s ethos.
2. Strong capability to teach Years 7–10 English and contribute to BSSS English courses in Years 11–12.
3. A commitment to evidence-based practice, data-informed teaching, and meaningful student engagement.
4. A team-focused mindset and willingness to collaborate within a young, dynamic, and supportive English faculty.
Qualifications and Requirements:
– Bachelor of Education, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
– Current ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration.
– Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration.
– Eligibility to work in Australia.
– Commitment to the Christian ethos and values of the school.
