About the Role

WCCS is seeking a Director of People and Compliance to join the Senior Leadership Team. This newly created role provides strategic and operational support across human resources and compliance, helping to shape and maintain a people-focused, Christian ethos-driven culture within the school.

Key responsibilities include leading recruitment and onboarding processes, managing compliance systems (such as Working With Children Check), policy development, and supporting staff through employee relations and organisational design initiatives. The Director will also play a key role in upholding the School’s Christian mission and values in HR and compliance related processes.

Selection Criteria

  • Active Christian faith and regular attendance at a Christian Church.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the vision, mission, and values of WCCS, including the Statement of Faith.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in human resources, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, policy development and implementation, and organisational development and design.
  • Current Working with Children Check and commitment to child safety in an education setting.
  • Substantial skills and experience in:
    • Strategic Thinking: Aligning human resources and compliance initiatives with long-term goals, offering strategic insights.
    • Working with People: Building strong relationships with staff and stakeholders, promoting collaboration.
    • Problem Solving & Decision Making: Identifying issues, making sound decisions, and implementing practical solutions.
    • Leadership: Providing strategic guidance on key decisions to the Senior Leadership Team, supporting the school’s Christian mission.
