Wyong Christian Community School (WCCS) is a vibrant Christian school located on 28 acres of beautiful semi-rural land. WCCS is a ministry of Wyong Baptist Church, partnering with local churches to offer families a Christ-centered educational environment.
About the Role
The Student Learning Support Officer assists and supports the classroom teacher working under their direction. Applications are invited from qualified Student Learning Support Officers with a strong commitment to Christian Education. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, keen to engage and inspire our students enabling them to achieve their God-given potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with building an effective learning environment by working with teachers to support a differentiated curriculum that meets varying learning styles.
- Assist students with school routines and classroom activities.
- Assist with the implementation of the health care plans and individual education programs of students to support their engagement in learning activities.
- Provide individualised or small group instruction.
Note: the classroom teachers are responsible for the education, control and behaviour management of the students.
Selection Criteria
The ideal candidate will:
- Have an active Christian faith with regular involvement in a local church, and a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of WCCS, including the Statement of Faith.
- Hold a Certificate III in Education Support (or be actively working towards this qualification).
- Hold a Working With Children Check (or be willing to obtain).
- Display high-level written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team.
