Employment Type: Part-Time (0.4FTE – Thursday & Friday)

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

 

Wongutha CAPS is a Christian boarding school for Year 11 and 12 Aboriginal students who predominantly come from remote towns and communities throughout Western Australia. The school is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing needs of students to enable them to effectively engage in the education and training opportunities available at the school.

 

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Certificate I in Automotive Vocational Trainer to join our team. This role involves delivering high-quality training and assessment for students enrolled in the Certificate I in Automotive Vocational Preparation qualification. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about education, have practical industry experience, and be able to engage and inspire learners.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess Certificate I in Automotive Vocational Preparation units in line with training package requirements.
Develop training resources, lesson plans, and assessment materials.
Provide students with practical, hands-on experience in mechanics.
Ensure compliance with RTO standards, including record keeping and reporting.
Support students in developing employability skills related to the automotive industry.
Maintain a safe and effective learning environment in the workshop.
 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Relevant industry qualifications in Automotive Mechanics (minimum Cert II in Automotive Mechanical Technology or higher).
Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent (preferred).
Demonstrated experience working in the automotive industry.
Experience in delivering vocational education and training is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with students of various backgrounds.
A commitment to student-centred learning and continuous improvement.
