Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years. With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of over 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2024.
The Wantirna South Campus is seeking a part-time (FTE 0.6 – 0.8) passionate and devoted Campus Student Chaplain to join the team in January 2025.
As a Chaplain, you are ideally already linked with a local church community and you will play a pivotal role in making the College vision to “Educate a generation of young people who will impact their community, nation, and the world for the Lord Jesus Christ” a reality, engaging students in their faith journey, and fostering their spiritual growth.
You are an ideal candidate if you:
- Have strong understanding of Biblical principles and theological foundations, with the ability to communicate these effectively to students. A degree or diploma in Theology or Ministry is highly desirable.
- Have proven experience in fostering spiritual development and providing pastoral care for students/young people.
- Are committed to actively engage students in Biblical instruction, prayerfully and wisely providing guidance to support their faith journey as Christ-followers.
- Are comfortable leading from the front to create an annual calendar of chapel speakers and create engaging Chapel services that will engage students spiritually and develop their leadership, worship and prayer capabilities
- Are passionate about enhancing student engagement and deepening their connection to the Christian faith.
- Have high level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Are passionate about building relationships with all members of the College community.
- Are highly motivated, Health and Safety minded and have good administrative and Microsoft Office 365 skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Are able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
- Are willing to get involved in all aspects of the College’s programs and opportunities.
