Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years. With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of over 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2025.
The Narre Warren South Campus is seeking a Secondary Learning Support Assistant to work 4 days per week (8:45am-3:30pm during term time, an FTE of 0.658). This is a fixed term position until the end of Term 4, 2025, however it is possible the role could become ongoing as the College often has Learning Support Assistant work available.
An ideal candidate is someone who desires to play a vital role in the creation of an inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive, including support provision toa small number of students in our SPARC program (Supported Program of Applied Readiness for Community) and/or Secondary mainstream classrooms. Experience working with individuals (particularly adolescents) with disabilities in the broader community will be well regarded.
You are an integral part of our school community and educational team, ensuring that each student receives the necessary support to facilitate their active participation in school and classroom activities. Learning Support Assistants acting as a bridge between students and their teacher and help to foster connections between students and their peers. Your support will make a lasting impact on their educational journey.
You are an ideal candidate if you:
- Have a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Education Support or be prepared to study towards one
- Have a passion for supporting students with disabilities
- Are able to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and other support staff
- Can demonstrate high level communication and interpersonal skills
- Have good administrative and Microsoft Office 365 skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Enjoy working in a team environment
- Are able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education
- Are willing to get involved in all aspects of the College’s programs and opportunities

A Working with Children’s Check, and a Police Check less than three months old are mandatory prior to being hired. A current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011), CPR Certificate (HLTAID009), and Anaphylaxis Certificate (22578VIC or HLTAID012) are also required prior to starting in the role.
