The Role
Warwick Christian College is seeking to appoint a Head of Primary in a full-time ongoing capacity, commencing July 2026, or at a mutually agreed time.

The Head of Primary is a key leadership position within the College and will work closely with the Principal and College Leadership Team to provide strategic, pastoral, operational and instructional leadership across the Primary years.

This role requires a passionate, organised and adaptable Christian leader who has a heart for mission, service and the formation of young people. The successful candidate will be an experienced educator and leader who is committed to building a strong Primary culture where every child is known, loved, challenged and supported to grow.

As the College continues to grow, the Head of Primary will play an important role in strengthening teaching and learning, supporting staff, building culture, partnering with families, and ensuring the daily operations of the Primary school are marked by clarity, care and excellence.

The Head of Primary will demonstrate strong pastoral care, strategic thinking, communication, organisational and leadership skills. They will be self-driven, able to work with initiative, and committed to contributing actively to the full life of the College.

The successful applicant will:

  • Demonstrate a clear and active Christian faith, with a commitment to the mission and ethos of Christian education.
  • Uphold and model the College’s mission, vision and values.
  • Provide leadership that strengthens a Primary culture where every student is known, loved and supported.
  • Demonstrate strong pastoral care and a genuine passion for working with children and families.
  • Lead, support and develop Primary staff within a collaborative and professional culture.
  • Promote high-quality teaching and learning, including effective curriculum planning, assessment, differentiation and student growth.
  • Demonstrate current knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and contemporary primary education practice.
  • Integrate a Biblical Christian worldview into curriculum, culture and daily school life.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and continued growth of the College.
  • Manage the daily organisation and operational needs of the Primary school with clarity, consistency and care.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with students, staff, families and the wider College community.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills, initiative, discretion, confidentiality, integrity and sound judgement.
  • Be gentle in spirit, firm in principle, and committed to leading with humility, wisdom and courage.
  • Actively contribute to the broader life of the College, including events, pastoral programs, community engagement and cocurricular activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Primary Education.
  • Current Queensland College of Teachers registration.
  • Demonstrated experience in Primary teaching and leadership.
  • Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
  • Active involvement in a local Christian church.
