The King’s College, Wellard, is a leading Christian educational institution with a strong heritage of faith-based learning. Established in 1986 by Dr. Gerry and Pastor Maureen McCoy, the College remains deeply connected to its founding values through an ongoing partnership with The King’s Chapel. Guided by the vision “to be an exceptional Christ-centered learning community,” The King’s College has successfully adapted to changing times while maintaining its fundamental Christian principles. With a growing student body currently at 970 and set to surpass 1,000, the College is poised for an exciting period of expansion and development.

Overview of the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Principal to lead the school into its next phase of strategic growth (2025–2029). Reporting to the Board, the Principal will be responsible for upholding the College’s Christian ethos while overseeing all aspects of leadership, including faith integration, curriculum development, operational management, and community engagement. The role also involves steering major capital projects that will expand the school’s facilities by 50%, including a new gymnasium, an Early Learning Centre, and additional primary school classrooms.
As the College approaches its 40th anniversary in 2026, this is a unique opportunity to influence its future direction, lead its next phase of growth, and make a lasting impact on both the school and the broader community.

• A practicing Christian actively involved in church life, capable of articulating and upholding the College’s evangelical values.
• An inspirational leader who can foster a strong culture among students and staff, providing opportunities for growth and development.
• Commitment to sustaining the College’s partnership with The King’s Chapel.
• Bring a change management mindset with the ability to develop and implement a clear vision for the College’s future growth.
• Experience leading a K–12 co-educational school, with a passion for academic excellence and innovation.
• Proven track record in school improvement, curriculum development, and professional learning initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, capable of building trusted relationships with the Board, staff, parents, and external partners.
• Sound understanding of governance and compliance within Christian education.
• Strong business acumen, with experience managing finances, facilities, and capital projects.
• Ability to navigate risk and compliance effectively, ensuring operational excellence and creating a risk aware culture throughout the school.
• Exceptional communication skills, coupled with energy, enthusiasm, and a strong, visible presence as an engaged and active Principal
