  • Commencing as soon as possible
  • Permanent Part Time – from 22.5 hrs pw over 3 days to 29.5 hrs pw over 4 days / 41 weeks per year (0.513 – 0.672 FTE) negotiable
  • Salary commensurate with qualifications & experience ranging from $61,375 to $64,154 (1.0 FTE)
  • Plus 9.5% Employer Superannuation & 17.5% Annual Leave Loading

Position Requirements

The Science Laboratory Technician provides support services to the Science faculty as required. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of materials for practical science classes as required
  • Ensuring the equipment, tools, chemicals and other materials are adequately stocked and kept in working condition for the teachers and their classes
  • Ensuring safe disposal of chemicals
  • Provide guidance to teachers and students on the use of laboratory facilities in a safe manner
  • Help maintain WHS compliance
  • Care and maintenance of any living specimens kept by the Science faculty

Person Requirements

It is expected that applicants will:

  • Have completed Certificate III in Laboratory Skills or equivalent in a related field
  • Have knowledge of WHS and SCS risk assessment and hazard management & fundamental working knowledge of chemical, biological and physical safety in science
  • Have exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Be committed to Christ & able to demonstrate active church involvement
  • Hold or be willing to complete Responding to Abuse and Neglect in Education & Care training (RAN-EC) and have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
