Kalamunda Christian School (KCS), nestled in the beautiful suburb of Walliston, has been shaping young lives for over 40 years. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Education Assistant to join our team in a permanent, full-time position, commencing 12 October 2026, or as negotiated. The successful candidate will support students with care and compassion, working collaboratively with staff and families.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the teacher in delivering developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Prepare, organise, and maintain classroom resources and the learning environment.
- Assist with classroom management, student wellbeing, and minor first aid.
- Work with individual students or small groups to support learning as directed.
- Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment, maintaining professional boundaries and referring parent concerns to the teacher.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, regular church attendance, and alignment with SCEA’s Statement of Faith and Christian lifestyle values.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, parents, staff, and other professionals.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload efficiently.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under time constraints.
- Demonstrate initiative, responsiveness to direction, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
- Current Working with Children Check and Department of Education Criminal History Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable Selection Criteria:

- Relevant qualification (e.g. Certificate III/IV in Education Support or similar).
- Previous experience working in an early childhood or primary classroom setting.
- Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities or additional behavioural, social, or emotional needs.
- First Aid qualifications.
