Mundaring Christian College is a thriving non-denominational, co-educational K–12 school, situated in the picturesque Perth Hills across two campuses with a Primary Campus in Mundaring and a Secondary Campus in Parkerville. Proudly operated by Swan Christian Education Association (SCEA), we are a provider of quality Christian education, dedicated to nurturing the academic and spiritual growth of our students.
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Chaplain to join our Primary team in a part-time (0.4 FTE), permanent position commencing as soon as possible. This position may have up to 8 weeks of stand down, depending on the candidates’ preference and capabilities.
The successful candidate will provide pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and practical support, helping students feel known, valued, safe and connected. Through your commitment to Christian ministry, pastoral care, and student wellbeing, you will help create a nurturing community in which every child is supported to flourish academically, spiritually, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead engaging faith-based programs, prayer opportunities, and spiritual growth initiatives.
- Provide compassionate pastoral care and support to students, staff, and families.
- Foster a welcoming Christian community where every student feels known, valued, safe, and connected.
- Partner with teachers and College leaders to integrate faith and values into everyday school life.
- Be a positive Christian role model while actively contributing to the life and culture of the College.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and is an active member of a Christian Church, living in accordance with the Association’s Statement of Faith and Educational Objectives.
- A committed Christian role model passionate about faith, wellbeing, and community.
- Strong relationship building, with a warm, caring, and approachable nature.
- Skilled in pastoral care, providing support, guidance, and encouragement to students.
- A collaborative and resilient team player with strong communication and organisational skills.
- Current Working with Children Check, Department of Education Criminal History Check, and registration with the National Student Wellbeing Program (or willingness to obtain these).
Desirable Selection Criteria:

- Experience in educational or youth ministry settings is preferred.
- Certificate IV in Youth Work or Certificate IV in Pastoral Care.
- Relevant theological education and/or pastoral counselling experience.
