Mundaring Christian College is a thriving non-denominational, co-educational K–12 school, situated in the picturesque Perth Hills across two campuses with a Primary Campus in Mundaring and a Secondary Campus in Parkerville. We are seeking a strategic and collaborative Acting Head of Primary to join our team in a full-time position commencing from the 12th October 2026, or as negotiated. This is a fixed-term contract ending on the 24th September 2027, the end of Term 3.
The successful candidate will lead the strategic and operational direction of the Primary School as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team. You will work closely with the Principal to foster a cohesive, high-performing environment that promotes excellence in teaching, student wellbeing, and academic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- An innovative and strategic leader who drives College improvement and supports key strategic initiatives.
- A collaborative leader who fosters positive relationships and continuous improvement across the College community.
- Lead high-quality teaching and learning, ensuring consistent, evidence-based practice and instructional excellence across the College.
- Build staff capability through coaching and professional learning within a positive, high-performing culture.
- Ensure compliance and risk management, maintaining strong adherence to legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Lead engaging co-curricular programs and school experiences that support student growth beyond the classroom.
- Lead data-informed decision-making and school improvement aligned with strategic priorities.
- Lead strategic change and improvement in the Primary School aligned to the College Strategic Plan.
- Build strong parent and community engagement, supporting positive relationships and effective communication.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrate a committed Christian faith by actively supporting the College’s Christian life and aligning with the Association’s Statement of Faith, Christian Lifestyle Statement, and educational objectives.
- Demonstrated relational leadership through building authentic relationships, fostering collaboration across a diverse school community, and maintaining an active presence in the spiritual, academic, sporting, cultural, and social life of the College.
- Demonstrated leadership and strategic capability including mentoring and empowering staff, translating vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes, and exercising integrity and sound judgement in complex situations.
- Demonstrated operational and professional capability through effective organisation, proactive problem-solving, and sound knowledge of educational requirements and compliance frameworks.
- Current Working with Children Check, and Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia registration (or willingness to obtain).
