Southern Hills Christian College is a K-12 Christian school in Bedfordale, Western Australia, and is part of the Swan Christian Education Association. Our staff are all committed Christians, and this belief is embedded both explicitly and implicitly in our curriculum and all that we do.
We are seeking multiple collaborative and passionate Education Assistants to join us in full-time positions. There is one permanent position available in our Secondary school team that commences 1 January 2027, and two fixed-term positions available in our Primary school team from 27 January 2027 to 9 April 2027.
You will be supporting the classroom teacher, fostering a warm and inclusive environment, and helping students achieve their academic, social and personal potential.

General Key Responsibilities:

- Support the classroom teacher in teaching, learning and activities.
- Assist with small-group and individual learning activities.
- Help maintain a calm, inclusive and Christ-centred classroom environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents, whilst maintaining professional discretion.
- Assist with supervision, monitoring progress, preparation of materials and general class tasks.
- Contribute to school life and uphold SCEA’s Christian values.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and is an active member of a Christian Church, living in accordance with the Association’s Statement of Faith and Educational Objectives.
- Ability to support student learning in a Primary or Secondary setting.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Warm, adaptable and able to nurture a positive classroom environment.
- Willing to uphold and contribute to the Christian life of the school.
- Current Working with Children Check and Department of Education Criminal History Clearance, or willingness to apply.
Desirable Selection Criteria:

- Relevant qualification (e.g. Certificate III/IV in Education Support or similar).
- Experience supporting Primary or Secondary students.
- Confidence working with students and diverse needs.
- Familiarity with digital tools used in schools.
