The Role, Supporting Student Growth

Sunrise Christian School Naracoorte welcomes expressions of interest for Education Support Officer opportunities. Education Support Officers work under the guidance of the Diverse Education Coordinator and classroom teachers to support student learning—providing one-on-one or small group assistance and contributing to a positive classroom environment.

Typical tasks may include assisting with the creation of learning resources, supporting supervision, and general classroom duties. Ideal candidates are committed, organised, and passionate about helping children thrive in their learning journey within a Christian school community. You don’t need a qualification to perform the role however will be highly regarded along with any previous experience in a similar role. This role offers pre-service teachers the opportunity to gain valuable experience as in the classroom and the school environment.

• Implementing learning programs under the guidance of the Diverse Education Coordinator.
• Demonstrating an excellent professional and interpersonal relationship with students, families and the school community.
• Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working autonomously once tasks are delegated.
• Possessing the required checks and trainings as regulated by the Department of Education, including a current Working With Children Check, Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse & Neglect in Education & Care (RRHAN-EC) training, and Protective Practices training.
