St Andrews Christian College is a coeducational Christian school (Prep – Year 12), located in Wantirna South, Melbourne. We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Science Laboratory Technician (Lab Tech) to offer support to the Science teaching staff in providing the best education possible for all students. The Lab Tech will work closely with the Head of Science, the Senior Lab Tech and the Science staff to ensure the Science curriculum is able to be delivered efficiently and safely at all times. In consultation with the Head of Science and the teaching staff, the Lab Tech will ensure that facilities are maintained and that all preparation for practical/experimental class work is completed in a timely manner. The Lab Tech may assist with timetabled classes and where appropriate at other times. Along with Science staff, the Lab Tech will monitor work spaces and the surrounding environment to identify and then refer any maintenance issue which could potentially impact upon student and staff wellbeing. As needed, the Lab Tech will order and purchase science materials, consumables and relevant equipment.

Working during school term time only, with additional time for staff meetings and professional development as required. This part-time role will commence ASAP.

Students currently studying tertiary qualifications in the Science field, are encouraged to apply.
