St Andrews Christian College is seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary School Teacher to join our team in Wantirna South. As a Primary School Teacher for Year 5, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our students within the Primary School department.

The main responsibilities and tasks of the role include:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and collaboration.
  • Establish clear objectives for each lesson and communicate them to students in an accessible manner.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop well-rounded educational experiences for students.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings and maintain open communication regarding students’ progress and well-being.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through involvement in extracurricular activities or school events.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and certifications as required by Victorian Institute of Teaching
  • Demonstrated experience teaching primary school students
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment methods
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies
  • Ability to create engaging and inclusive lesson plans
  • Effective communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment
