The IT Service Desk Technician at St Andrews Christian College plays a vital role in maintaining the operation of the College’s classroom learning. This position involves providing technical support to students, teachers, and staff, ensuring IT-related issues are either resolved efficiently or escalated to a specialist technician promptly. This full-time position will commence in January 2026.

The main responsibilities and tasks of this position include:

  • Responding to and resolving IT support requests from users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
  • Providing technical assistance for computer systems, printers, mobile devices, and other technology equipment
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining software applications and operating systems
  • Assisting with user account management, password resets, and access control
  • Contributing to the development of IT support documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Participating in IT projects and initiatives as directed by the IT Manager or senior team members
  • Delivering excellent customer service by ensuring timely resolution of technical issues and maintaining a positive user experience
  • Collaborating with other IT staff to identify recurring problems and proactively implement solutions to improve overall system performance
  • Conducting regular maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability and security of IT systems
  • Adhering to established policies, procedures, and best practices for IT service delivery

Required Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Mac OS environments
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Knowledge of help desk ticketing systems
  • Basic understanding of networking principles

Required Experiences:

  • Prior experience in providing IT support or service desk assistance
  • Experience in documenting IT issues and resolutions
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and user account management
  • Experience in providing technical guidance to end-users
