About this Opportunity:

St Andrews Christian College is seeking expressions of interest for the positions of Year 7 Coordinator and Year 8 Coordinator, to join our dynamic team in Wantirna South. This role falls under the department of Secondary School and is categorised as a Positions of Responsibility position within the field of Teaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key duties and tasks:

  • Providing leadership and guidance to teaching staff within the designated year levels, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Developing and implementing curriculum plans, in line with College policies and educational standards, to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Monitoring and evaluating student progress, implementing strategies to support individual learning needs and promote academic success.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to facilitate professional development opportunities and sharing best practices in teaching methodologies.
  • Contributing to the wider College community by participating in relevant meetings, events, and extracurricular activities.
  • Communicating effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, pastoral care, and behavioural matters.

A proven track record in educational leadership and a thorough understanding of the curriculum requirements for Years 7 & 8 are essential. Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in teaching at the secondary level, preferably within a coordinating or leadership capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, colleagues, and parents
  • A track record of implementing innovative and engaging teaching practices to support student learning and development
  • In-depth knowledge of the national curriculum and proficiency in designing and delivering comprehensive lesson plans
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage administrative tasks related to year-level coordination
  • Experience in guiding and supporting pastoral care initiatives for students within the specified year levels
  • An understanding of assessment and reporting processes, including the ability to analyse student data to drive improvements
  • Proven capability in mentoring and supporting fellow educators in their professional growth and development
