Southern Vales Christian College is a vibrant and growing Foundation to Year 12 school with campuses at Morphett Vale and Aldinga. The College is a ministry of Harvest Australia Church.

Student Counsellor

Morphett Vale Campus and Aldinga Campus

Up to 0.9 FTE

Commencing Term 1, 2026

The Position:

The Student Counsellor will focus on the needs of students in the College community. The role will provide brief intervention counselling support and case management to the student body and provide associated services to the wider college community (e.g. parents and staff) in relation to student issues. This role is an extension to the pastoral care of teachers and will include referral to community agencies when appropriate, acting as a resource person in the areas of social, emotional and mental wellbeing. The Student Counsellor will also oversee the chaplains and provide support and guidance to them.

The successful applicant will be:

• an active and committed member of a Christian Church;
• committed to the ministry of Christian schooling;
• an organised, motivated and relational self-starter;
• qualified and experienced in counselling and wellbeing support for children and young people (relevant tertiary qualifications in Counselling, Social Work or Psychology essential); and
• passionate about promoting the social, emotional, spiritual, and mental wellbeing of students within a Christ-centred educational context.
