Purpose:

Southern Highlands Christian School is seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and committed Christian individual to join our team as a School Bus Driver. This role is integral to supporting our students and wider school operations, ensuring safe transport and contributing to our vibrant school community.

About the role:

The School Bus Driver is responsible for the safe and punctual transport of students to and from Goulburn each school day, as well as driving our 12-seater and 24-seater school buses for excursions, sporting events, and other school activities.

We are offering two possible role structures:

Our preferred working arrangements are listed below; however, we are open to alternative configurations for the right candidate.

Option 1

Drive the daily Goulburn–Bowral bus run before and after school.
Stay on site during school hours to support the Property & Maintenance Department with general tasks.
Drive the 12-seater and 24-seater buses for excursions, sport, and other events during the school day.
Hours of work 7:15am start in Goulburn, 4:15pm finish in Goulburn
Possibility of taking bus home depending on location

Option 2

Drive the daily Goulburn–Bowral bus run before and after school.
Drive buses as needed for excursions and events.
No onsite maintenance responsibilities.
6am start in Bowral-8:20, via Goulburn finish in Bowral, 3pm start in Bowral-5:20pm finish in Bowral
Additional hours as required for excursions

Key Responsibilities

Safely transport students to and from school each day.
Drive school buses for excursions, events, and sport.
Complete safety checks, vehicle logs, and ensure buses are clean and well-maintained.
(If applicable) Support the Property & Maintenance Team with general duties during the school day.
Engage positively with students, staff, and families in a manner consistent with the values of SHCS.

Essential Requirements

Minimum LR (Light Rigid) Driver Licence.
Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
Excellent driving record and strong commitment to student safety.
Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently.
Applications are desired from suitably qualified, committed Christians who subscribe to the School’s Statement of Faith.
Must reside in Australia and have a valid right to work in Australia.
