Southern Highlands Christian School is seeking a passionate and experienced teacher, committed to Christian education, to join our High School team. Southern Highlands Christian School is a Christ-centred learning environment that provides challenging, engaging, and nurturing community equipping students to flourish in the world. We are a Preschool to Year 12 co-educational day school located in Bowral in the beautiful Southern Highlands.

As an English teacher you will join an outstanding team and have the opportunity to guide and inspire your students, within a nurturing and faith-based environment. You will collaborate with teachers and other stakeholders, and partner with parents, in developing and implementing effective strategies to grow a love of learning in our students and encourage them to pursue excellence in service to the community and in learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging lessons for High School English
• Design and implement lessons to inspire curiosity and critical thinking.
• Perceive the needs of individual students and differentiate learning to support all learners.
• Provide timely and transformative feedback to students.
• Engage warmly and constructively with parents.
• Embed a Biblical perspective into the curriculum.
• Confidently integrate ICT to enhance learning outcomes.
• Work collaboratively and productively with their colleagues.
• Show a commitment to improvement and professional development.

Qualification and Skills:

• Relevant English Teaching Qualifications.
• A proven track record as an educator in English.
• NESA Approval to teach in NSW Schools.
• Experience in a Year 7–12 school setting is preferred; however, applications from new graduates are encouraged.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to teach other subjects would be desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
