SCBC is seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Primary Education Assistant to join our Primary School team. This role plays a vital part in supporting teaching and learning by helping to create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to achieve their best.

Working alongside classroom teachers, the successful applicant will support students through small group and individual learning, assist with classroom routines, and contribute positively to student wellbeing and behaviour. A genuine love for working with children and a commitment to Christian education are essential.

Position Requirements:

• Support classroom teachers in the delivery of learning programs.
• Assist with small group and individual student learning.
• Provide encouragement and positive reinforcement to students.
• Support classroom behaviour management strategies.
• Prepare learning materials and teaching resources.
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Uphold the Christian ethos and values of the College.

Selection Criteria:

• Certificate III in School Based Education Support (CHC30221) or Certificate III in Children’s Services.
• Knowledge of EYLF and NQS standards, particularly in Junior Primary.
• Ability to engage students in literacy and numeracy activities.
• Familiarity with Reggio Emilia or project-based learning approaches.

Essential Criteria:

  • A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Active participation in a church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
  • Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith.
  • Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board, Principal, staff, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to personal best practice.
  • Ensure decisions are impartial, fact-based, and fair.
  • Model appropriate and proper channels of communication.
  •  Consistently act in the best interests of the College and its ethos.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
  • Commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment in line with the College’s values and policies.

Possession of the following certifications:
• National Police Clearance
• Working with Children Check
• First Aid Certificate
