This contract position is for the 2026 Academic Year at South Coast Baptist College and has the potential to be ongoing. The Primary School provides educational instruction and services to 680 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. This role is full-time teaching in one of our Junior Primary classrooms. The role involves planning, teaching, and evaluating student learning in a Junior Primary classroom setting in line with West Australian Curriculum requirement.
Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will:
- Hold a valid teaching qualification and registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia, demonstrating a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum in the Junior Primary years.
- Experience in planning and delivering high-quality Junior Primary programs, with a focus on English, Mathematics, Science, HASS, and the Arts.
- Possess excellent classroom management skills, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment that meets the needs of students of differing ability levels.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, effectively collaborating with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the values and ethos of an independent/private school, along with the ability to inspire and engage students in their learning.
- Experience with the Reggio Emilia approach is desirable.

- A personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Active participation in a church or Christian community, exemplifying Christian beliefs, behaviour, and practices.
- Acceptance of the College’s Statement of Faith.
- Ability to build cooperative and supportive relationships with the Board, Principal, staff, students, and parents.
- Commitment to personal best practice.
- Ensure decisions are impartial, fact-based, and fair.
- Model appropriate and proper channels of communication.
- Consistently act in the best interests of the College and its ethos.
- Adherence to all policies and procedures outlined by SCBC.
- Commitment to maintaining a child-safe environment in line with the College’s values and policies.
- Possession of: National Police Clearance
