About the Role
As Head of Secondary, you will be a vital leader in our school, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Secondary Department. Working closely with the Principal and the School Executive Team, you will help shape the future of our students, ensuring their academic, spiritual, and personal growth. This role requires a strong Christian commitment, visionary leadership, and the ability to foster an environment where students can thrive.
You will manage and develop teaching staff, oversee curriculum standards, and ensure that the Secondary Department aligns with the school’s Christian ethos and strategic vision. Your leadership will directly influence the well-being and success of students, and you will ensure that the school maintains its high standards of educational excellence while adhering to Christian values.
Key Responsibilities
· Leadership & Vision: Lead the Secondary School with a clear focus on the school’s Vision and Values, ensuring these principles are reflected in the everyday life of the school.
· Act as Principal: Step into the role of Principal when required, ensuring seamless continuity of leadership.
· Child Protection: Attain and maintain Child Protection accreditation, lead investigations, and report directly to the Principal when necessary.
· School Culture: Cultivate and maintain a positive, Christ-centred school culture within the Secondary Department.
· Strategic Plan Implementation: Assist in implementing the school’s Strategic Plan, aligning departmental goals with the school’s broader objectives.
. Staff Development: Work with Instructional Coaches to oversee professional development and provide mentorship for teaching staff.
· Curriculum Oversight: Ensure compliance with NESA standards, oversee curriculum development, and ensure a high-quality, biblically based curriculum.
· Student Wellbeing: Implement best practice wellbeing strategies across Years 7-12, fostering strong pastoral care.
· Partnerships with Parents: Strengthen staff and parent partnerships to support student learning and wellbeing.
· Operational Leadership: Make key operational decisions in consultation with the executive team, advising the Principal on issues relating to staff performance and student outcomes.

Key Relationships: Principal, School Executive Team, Coordinators, Teaching Staff, Parents/Carers

· Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider school community.
· Educational Expertise: A sound understanding of curriculum design, teacher accreditation, and best practices in student engagement and wellbeing.
· Wellbeing Focus: Experience in pastoral care and student wellbeing, ensuring all students are supported in their academic and personal development.
· Legislative Knowledge: A clear understanding of school-related legislation, NESA requirements, and external agencies, ensuring compliance and best practices.
