We are seeking expressions of interest for the following full-time position (1.0 FTE).

Secondary School English Teacher (Middle School: Year 7-9)

We are seeking an outstanding, passionate, and inspiring English teacher with experience and qualifications to teach English to Year 9 level, commencing in January 2025.

The successful applicant must have:

• relevant qualifications and experience, be approachable and relate well to students, parents and fellow staff members
• experience in writing and implementing the English curriculum
• a passion for teaching English to Secondary School students and, in particular, Middle School students in an engaging and relevant way.

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

You will have:

• an active Christian faith
• a passion for living out your Christian faith and prepared to model, uphold and support the Ethos and Core Values of the College
• a deeply relational, friendly and open personality
• outstanding teaching skills in your subject area
• a variety of teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of all the students that you teach
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including team-building and mentoring skills
• the willingness to go the extra mile to ensure that your students are always well-provided for
• a commitment to supporting College policies and procedures relating to Classroom and Behaviour Management
• an understanding of technology and the ability to integrate this into your teaching confidently.

Qualifications:

You will have:

• relevant tertiary qualifications and experience related to the teaching responsibility required by the position
• current Western Australia Australian Teachers Registration Board Certificate of Registration (TRBWA)
• current Working With Children Card
• current Police Clearance.

Additional Requirements:

• The successful applicant will be expected to complete the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations Modules if not already completed.
• You must have the right to live and work in Australia (VEVO checks will be conducted to confirm your eligibility to work in Australia).
