The Careers, VET and Workplace Learning Coordinator is responsible for coordinating career education, pathway planning, Vocational Education and Training opportunities and workplace learning experiences for Secondary students.

About the Teaching Role

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated educator who enjoys helping young people explore their future pathways, develop career-ready skills, and gain valuable experiences through VET and workplace learning opportunities.

You will have:

  • an active Christian faith
  • relevant qualifications and/or experience in careers education, VET, workplace learning, education, training, administration or a related field.
  • sound knowledge of post-school pathways, including university, TAFE, VET, apprenticeships and traineeships, with knowledge of SCSA, TISC and VET processes highly desirable.
  • an understanding of workplace health and safety and the responsibilities associated with student workplace placements.
  • strong organisational, administrative and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, employers, training providers and staff.
  • the ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, adapt to changing circumstances and work flexibly during peak careers and workplace learning periods.
  • competency with Google Workspace, the ability to learn College systems and a valid driver’s licence with the capacity to travel to workplaces as required.
  • confidence in integrating technology into teaching and learning, along with a commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective teaching practice.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Christian Ethos & College Operations – Uphold the Christian ethos, values and purpose of the College, while complying with legislative, regulatory and College requirements.
  • Career Education & Pathway Support – Coordinate career education and provide pathway guidance, supporting students with university, TAFE, VET, apprenticeships, traineeships, employment and other post-school pathways.
  • VET & Workplace Learning Coordination – Coordinate VET programs and Workplace Learning, including student applications, preparation, placement matching, documentation, monitoring and completion requirements.
  • Industry & External Partnerships – Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers, industry partners, universities, TAFE, RTOs and other pathway providers to create meaningful opportunities for students.
  • Student Support, Safety & Communication – Prepare and support students throughout their workplace learning experience, including induction, safety, wellbeing and ongoing monitoring, while maintaining effective communication with students, families, employers and external providers.
  • Compliance, Administration & Continuous Improvement – Maintain accurate records, reporting and documentation, ensure compliance with relevant SCSA, VET, workplace safety and legislative requirements, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of Careers, VET and Workplace Learning programs.

  • Current Working With Children Check
  • National Police Clearance (Issued in the last 3 months)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience related to the teaching responsibility required by the position.
  • Current Western Australia Australian Teachers Registration Board Certificate of Registration (TRBWA).
  • You must have the right to live and work in Australia (VEVO checks will be conducted to confirm your eligibility to work in Australia).
