Secondary School HASS & Economics Teacher (Long Service Leave Cover)

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the full-time, short-term contract commencing in January 2025.

HASS and Year 11 and 12  Economics Teacher – Full-time (1.0 FTE) 

Short-term Contract (Long Service Leave Cover):  29 January 2025 – 7 March 2025

The successful applicant will:

• have relevant teaching qualifications and experience, be approachable, and relate well with students, parents and fellow staff members.
• have a thorough knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum.
• have experience working within a Google Chrome environment.

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

You will have:

• an active Christian Faith
• exemplary teaching practice, with qualifications and experience in teaching this subject
• comprehensive knowledge of current educational needs and achievement standards.
• a passion for teaching HASS to Secondary School students in an engaging and relevant way
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including team-building and mentoring skills
• commitment to go the extra mile to ensure that your students are always well provided for
• have an understanding of technology and are able to confidently use this in your teaching

Personal Qualities:

• You are passionate about living out your Christian faith, and you are prepared to model, uphold, and support the Ethos of the College and its Core Values.
• Deeply relational, friendly and open.
• An outstanding teacher in your subject area
• Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, that can be used effectively with staff, students and parents.
• Can demonstrate effective planning, organisational and time-management skills.

Qualifications:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience related to the teaching responsibility required by the position.
• While candidates with a major or minor in a HASS discipline are preferred, candidates will require expertise and qualifications in teaching Economics in Years 11 and 12
• Current Western Australia Australian Teachers Registration Board Certificate of Registration (TRBWA).
• Current Working With Children Card.
• Current Police Clearance

Additional Requirements:

• The successful applicant will be expected to complete the National Principals Child Safe Modules if not already completed.
• You must have the right to live and work in Australia (VEVO checks will be conducted to confirm your eligibility to work in Australia).
