Grounds/Maintenance Person

Providence Christian College is a Co-educational, non-denominational K-12 College with around 1150 students in Southern River, WA.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the following Full-time and short-term position:

Grounds/ Maintenance Person – Full-time  (1.0 FTE) 

Short-term Contract:  Commence ASAP – 30 October 2026 (with the possibility of a further extension)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds/Maintenance person to join our team on a short-term contract. The successful candidate will assist with the general upkeep and maintenance of the school grounds and facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Personal Qualities:

• You are passionate about living out your Christian faith and are prepared to model, uphold, and support the Ethos of the College and its Core Values.
• Proven experience in gardening and maintenance.
• General skills in painting, carpentry, property maintenance and general repairs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment

Applicants will be required to:

• Perform routine building and grounds maintenance and improvement tasks.
• Report any identified maintenance needs.
• Repair and maintain College equipment and fixtures.
• Assist with setup and takedown for school events and activities.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Collaborate with the Buildings Team on joint maintenance tasks and projects.
• When required, assist with contractor enquiries.

Additional Requirements:

• You have relevant trade qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Moderate level of computer competence.
• All applicants are required to attain and maintain a Working with Children Check clearance.
• You are required to provide a current Police Clearance report (no older than three months).
• You will be expected to complete a Child Safety course as part of the induction process if you have not already done so.
• You must have the right to live and work in Australia (VEVO checks will be conducted to confirm your eligibility to work in Australia).
